‘Aftersun’ will finally have its PH theatrical run

Catch it and a handful of other films in select theaters nationwide this July.

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is teaming up with Ayala Malls Cinemas to screen recent festival gems like Aftersun and Return to Seoul locally.

Presented under the agency’s A-List Series, the quartet of acclaimed films is screening at select Ayala Malls Cinemas theaters and FDCP Cinematheques across the country. These films include: Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun, Davy Chou’s Return to Seoul, Lukas Dhont’s Close, and Marie Kreutzer’s Corsage. The films will screen over five days, from July 26th through the 30st, 2023.

Aftersun

Drama | 2022 | dir. Charlotte Wells

Tells the story of Sophie as she reflects on the joy and melancholy of a holiday she took with her father 20 years earlier.

Following the lives of 13-year-olds Leo and Remi, Close tells their story of drifting apart after their relationship is questioned by their schoolmates.

Corsage

Drama | 2022 | dir. Marie Kreutzer

Depicts the life of Empress Elizabeth of Austria, told on a fictional account.

Return to Seoul

Drama | 2022 | dir. Davy Chou

Follows the life of a 25-year-old French woman as she returns to her birthplace, South Korea, after being adopted to a French family. She then decides to track down her biological parents but her journey takes a surprising turn.
